Job Purpose

This role interprets business requirements and/or solicits the requirements and implements DataStage, Data Factory or queries to match the business needs.

Develops, designs and codes complex reports to meet business requests. Works with reporting and ETL to deliver requirements for DevOps tasks or project deliverables. Breaks down tasks into manageable bodies of work and begins sharing the work/ solution to mentor other team members. Assists in supporting all ETL/ELT processes used the load ODS’s, Dashboards or KPI.

Reviews and understands BRD/TRD created by business partners or application development teams. Works with BI team to source the data used in reporting and expose in the User View to be used by the reporting projects. Works with the requirements for sending data to vendors and works with the Middleware team to ensure data privacy and security during transfer of files.

Explains complex problems and develops solutions that are simple to understand and learn and yield the expected results. Provides training to users of the tools used to perform ad-hoc queries and ensures they understand how to develop efficient code that doesn’t need continual care and feeding. Participates in project review meetings as needed and communicates status on progress or any roadblock and escalate as necessary.

Executes regression, performance and unit testing and provides documented performance metrics of reports and Dashboards to ensure BI applications developed don’t break existing reports and performs with superior performance.

Maintains an industry view of products and new techniques to ensure we are the among the leaders in the industry. Develops and writes runbooks to ensure the data is loaded at the right time and escalated if any issues occur.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

·   Intermediate knowledge on Data Warehousing and Analytics

·   Experience building ELT or ETL processes that will populate data from source ODS’s into EDW or tLOG into EDW using current technology.

·   Must have Strong SQL knowledge, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition or OAS. SaaS or Cloud based technology.

·   Experience working with cloud databases such as Azure, TeraData, Oracle and DB2

·   Ability to develop and understand Technical Requirement documents.

·   Working knowledge of Scrum or Agile project delivery.

·   Ability to accurately estimate task/ requirement effort.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred

·   Experience with Matra, Datastage, Data Factory or SaaS or other cloud-based databases or tools used for building tables, loading data or sending data. Ability to create source to target mappings.

·    Knowledge of code deployment.

·   Knowledge of Product, Unit and Regression testing.
