Position Classification:(Part-time seasonal); Mon.-Fri. 1:30 pm-6:30 pm; $14 an hr.Program Director positions are available at the following locations:HB Rhames Elementary-Columbia, SCLewis Greenview Elementary-Columbia, SCBoundary Street Elementary -Newberry, SCMuller Rd. Middle School-Blythewood, SCBethel-Hanberry Elementary- Blythewood, SCGeneral Function:Responsible for overseeing the delivery of all program areas within the Club. Plans, develops, and manages program implementation. Supervises program staff and performs other related administrative duties. Serves as a liaison between parents, schools, community groups and Club members. Works in partnership with the Campus Director to ensure that a myriad of pro-social and youth development opportunities are available to all Club members. Provides orientation and goal setting for all Club members. Program Director Floaters will be housed at a specific site in the region of their choice. They will report to the housed site every day unless told to work at another site in their region when needed.Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Youth Development field (or equivalent education and experience) and 2-3 years program delivery experience.Knowledge, skills and abilities:Understanding of the Organization's philosophy, vision and goalsAbility to deal with a diverse population of youth ages 4 to 18Management and supervisory experienceStrong communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of all national and local programsMandatory CPR and First Aid CertificationAbility to establish and cultivate positive relationships with youthJob Responsibilities:Demonstrate and promote Core ValuesImplement CurriculumOrganize, direct and implement programming, to include programs in Boys & Girls Clubs of America's five Core Program AreasProvide individual and group instructionMaintain discipline; arbitrate disputes and enforce Club rulesRefer youth in need of additional services to appropriate agenciesManage/Delegate appropriate responsibilities to program staffMeet with volunteers and orientate them to the Club environmentEnsure planned programs, services, and activities are implemented in accordance with organizational mission, policies and procedures. Assist program staff in guiding Club members into making appropriate program choices.Facilitate weekly staff meetings.Solicit input from staff, community, parents, volunteers and Club members for improvement.Mandatory CPR and First Aid CertificationOther duties as assigned.Physical and Mental Requirements:Must be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities while at all times displaying tact, maturity and flexibility. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, standing for up to four hours per day, and ability to implement programs. Skills essential for success include speaking, writing and knowledge of the computer.Environment & Working Conditions:After school/Recreational settings that include being in/outdoors.
