Position Overview:We are seeking a visionary Chief People Officer (CPO) to lead our dynamic HR team and drive the future of our workforce. You will play a pivotal role in guiding our organization through its next strategic phase, ensuring we remain at the forefront of community health services. As a strategic thought partner to the executive leadership team, board of directors, and management, you will offer insights that significantly enhance organizational effectiveness and help achieve business objectives. You will also serve as the face of our organization, being highly visible at events and representing our commitment to talent development, diversity, equity, and inclusion.What You'll Do:Serve as a strategic thought partner to the organization, executive leadership team, and board of directors, providing insights and strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness and business objectives.Develop and execute HR strategies and programs that support the organization's strategic goals and objectives.Lead and manage the HR department, providing direct oversight of the HR Manager and ensuring the department aligns with the organization's strategic goals.Champion and drive DEI initiatives, promoting a culture that welcomes diversity and leverages it for business success.Design and implement robust talent management programs to attract, develop, and retain top talent, significantly impacting organizational stability and growth.Institute and promote wellness programs that reduce stress and support a positive work environment, enhancing employee satisfaction and productivity.Develop and execute strategies to enhance organizational culture, driving innovative leadership and employee engagement practices that contribute to high performance and job satisfaction.Provide expert guidance on complex HR matters, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and managing labor relations effectively.Collaborate with senior leadership to craft creative programs and policies that boost employee performance and satisfaction.Be highly visible throughout the organization by attending internal events and ensuring our team has a trusted HR resource, while occasionally representing us at community events and industry conferences to strengthen our presence and reputation.In collaboration with the CEO, serve as the point of inquiry for the organization regarding any ongoing claim or legal case against the organization. Act as a liaison to outside legal counsel and ensure that the chain of custody is maintained for any such claims. Sequester medical records as necessary.What You Bring:Extensive experience as a CHRO, VP of HR, or in a similar strategic HR leadership role within a mid to large-sized health care organization, with a strong background in employment law, particularly in hiring, terminations, and leaves of absence.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies that effectively support organizational goals, with a proven track record in advancing DEI and managing comprehensive HR programs and functions.Exceptional communication skills, ensuring a constant flow of clear, effective communication within the team and across the organization.Proactive and execution-focused, with a strong record of delivering on commitments and implementing strategic initiatives successfully.Strategic thinker who can anticipate future challenges and opportunities, crafting innovative HR solutions that align with long-term business objectives.Diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, as we value the unique perspectives and experiences they bring to our team.Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field along with professional HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) required; master's degree preferred.Join Us:At New Bedford Community Health Center, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that reflects the community we serve.
