Located in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City, Black Walnut serves as the perfect venue for the right individual to be challenged, and flourish, in the hospitality industry. Job Summary: A General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, both front and back of house. Their core duties include hiring and training restaurant staff, implementing and enforcing company policies, creating work schedules, purchasing and revenue management, among many other tasks. It is the role of the General Manager to ensure the restaurant is profitable, efficient, and a positive place to work. Supervisory Responsibilities: Hires and trains restaurant staff. Organizes and oversees the staff schedules. Oversees service, filling gaps as necessary, while ensuring complete guest satisfaction. Purchases necessary supplies and ingredients, ensuring costs remain within budgeted parameters. Performs monthly inventory counts and ensures proper usage of product. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with restaurant policy. Oversees food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards. Ensures customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience. Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner. Ensures compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations. Estimates food and beverage costs. Conducts daily inspection of restaurant and equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards. Periodically evaluates restaurant equipment for repairs and maintenance issues; reports concerns to ownership. Collaborates with Chefs to develop appetizing menus. Maintains sales records and tracks cash receipts. Prepares and submits operations reports and other documentation requested by senior management. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service. Excellent time management skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous restaurant management experience required (2+ years). Valid Oklahoma liquor license required. Servsafe preferred. Physical demands: Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
