Overview:
As our Sr. Compensation Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing and administering Mastec Clean Energy & Infrastructure’s (CE&I) compensation programs. This position will be primarily focused on our industrial and infrastructure company groups.
The successful candidate will have experience with several or more of the following strategic compotents: design, support, and administer incentive plans; support annual performance review/merit process including tool administration; development of salary ranges and annual analysis to stay competitive; development of job descriptions to support our ever changing business; partnering with the business to outline career paths within departments and job families; ensure market alignment for benchmarked jobs; review pay and job changes through HRIS system; ensure regulatory compliance (FLSA/Pay Equity/IRA-Prevailing Wage).
Location: The location is flexible for this position, with hybrid or remote options available based on the identified candidate. This position supports companies across the United States. Will participate in occasional travel (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities to particpate in team or leadership meetings or strategic planning activities.

The Clean Energy & Infrastructure Group is comprised of the business sectors and companies: Industrial - Casey Industrial, MasTec Industrial, Phoenix Industrial; Infrastructure: American Civil Constructors West Coast, Cash Construction, FNF Construction, Lemartec Corporation, MasTec Civil, Precision Aggregate Products, Ragnar Benson Construction, Saiia, William Charles Construction, William Charles Electric; Renewables: Bianchi Electric, IEA Constructors, Wanzek Construction, White Construction.
Responsibilities:
Support the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs
Provide compensation insights for labor studies to support the project proposal and estimating teams
Coordinate external compensation data collection and participation in 3rd party salary surveys
Work with department leaders on the evaluation of jobs, creation of job families, documentation of job descriptions, and salary survey job-matching
Support the annual pay planning cycle with both merit increases and annual incentive plans, as well as off-cycle bonuses (sign-on bonuses, misc. craft bonuses, referral bonus, etc.)
Support the annual performance review process by developing and administering the performance reviews through HRIS system
Conduct research and analyze results to make recommendations on market competitiveness, pay equity, salary range structure and compensation trends
Design, build, utilize business intelligence software, such as Power BI, for HR metrics and provides insights to business leaders on using the HR metrics to make data driven decisions
Predict future compensation trends to give guidance and insights to continue to support the company’s business objectives
Review and approve all pay change ESRs in accordance with company compensation philosophy
Analyze and make recommendation for necessary updates to all company incentive plans
Analyze the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives
Provide support and advice to department leaders on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations
Recommend creative solutions to incentive plans
Develop techniques for compiling, analyzing, preparing and presenting compensation and benefits data
May support the administration of CE&I’s recognition program
Support in the administration of all employee compensation programs
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience Requirements
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field preferred
5+ years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably specific to benefits, compensation or both
HRIS system experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
