Polk Street Animal Hospital (PSAH) is located in the bustling Polk Gulch neighborhood on Polk St. between Washington and Jackson St. There is a high demand for veterinary care in the surrounding neighborhoods, and our team strives to fulfill this demand with the highest quality of care.
We're seeking Veterinary Assistants with a passion for veterinary medicine, excellent client care, and the ambition to become an intricate part of our healthcare team.
The ideal candidate is proficient in the following areas:
Dog and Cat restraint
I.V catheter placement
Venipuncture (jugular, cephalic, medial/lateral saphenous)
Running in-house IDEXX lab work
Radiography
Familiarity with veterinary pharmacology
Calculating medication doses
Administering medications via all routes
Inducing Anesthesia (R.V.T.)
Intubating (R.V.T.)
Surgical monitoring
Client communication and education (excellent written and verbal skills)
Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to decipher medical records

Compensation: $23.00 - $29.00 / hour
