JFCS has earned a national reputation as a leader in developing research-based social services and educational programs that strengthen individuals, families, and community.POSITION SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Director of the Israeli Department with oversight by the Clinical Services Director and/or the Associate Director, CCY, the Group Leader plays a vital role, as a member of the interdisciplinary team at JFCS. The group leader will provide group and workshop opportunities for children ages 4-18 and their families by leading social skills/support groups for various age groups of children where a need is identified. The Group Leader understands and assists in meeting budget and services goals, understands the mission and objectives of JFCS and works within the limitations of the Agency’s resources, and performs all duties in compliance with agency standards.OUR CAREER OPPORTUNITY:JOB TITLE: Group Leader – Israeli DepartmentREPORTS TO: Director, Israeli DepartmentEMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-time, without benefitsJOB LOCATION: Palo Alto, CABENEFITS:Pay Range: $45 – $50/hourBe part of a financially stable nonprofit with a long and rich historyBe part of a large multi-faceted organization serving 120,000 people with over 40 programsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Facilitates Social Skills groupsMeets with parents and child for intake and assessment purposesMeets with parents for a summary session and creates a workplan for the childFacilitates support groups, workshops, and educational programs for parents and children based on community needsCompletes administrative duties necessary to carry out responsibilities in a timely fashionParticipates in scheduled staff meetingsMeets fee and service goals established in the annual work planParticipates in JFCS and departmental meetings and trainings and represents the department in a professional mannerMaintains client privacy and confidentialityFosters a spirit of teamwork and unity among JFCS staff that allows for cultivating ideas, expeditious resolution of conflict, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working together to enable each employee and the department to succeedComplies with the Jewish Family and Children’s Services Policy and Procedures Manual, as well as agency health and safety standards for clients, employees, and the facilityPerforms other duties as assigned by the Director of Children’s Clinical ServicesQUALIFICATIONS:Licensed mental health professional (MSW, ASW, LCSW, AMFT, LMFT, PsyD)3+ years of postgraduate experienceSpecial knowledge in kids and adolescent mental health and experience working with adolescentsKnowledge of best practices in working with kids and adolescents in a group settingExperience running workshops and groups for kids and their parentsExcellent oral and written communication skillsExperience working within an interdisciplinary team setting and commitment to working as a team playerDesire to work in a social service setting requiredCommitment to and enthusiasm for the mission, goals, and objectives of the AgencyAbility to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and complete projects with a minimum amount of direct supervisionExperience in using MS Office applications and general computer skillsSpeaks fluent Hebrew and understands the Israeli cultureTo be considered for this position, you must meet the requirements and competencies listed above.
