General Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Surplus Transportation Specialist to join our team. As a Surplus Transportation Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering goods to customers, ensuring timely and safe transportation, and maintaining the vehicle in use. Your role will involve handling retail and logistics items efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate a box truck to deliver or pick up items as instructed
Load and unload the truck using hand trucks, manual pallet jacks, or electronic pallet jacks
Drive on a predetermined route and schedule
Document deliveries, log shipment information, and maintain accurate records
Follow all relevant local, state, and federal regulations
Ensure timely deliveries to meet client expectations
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards

Qualifications:
Education/ Experience:
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Valid Driver License
Minimum of 2 years of experience in vehicle handling, yard operations, or related field preferred
Strong leadership, management, and coaching skills
A high degree of customer service orientation
Skill and passion in building authentic and long-lasting relationships with customers
Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a changing/fluid environment
Skills:
Good interpersonal and customer communication skills
Decision making
Exhibit exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of yard management, from vehicle placement to data entry accuracy
Must possess excellent organizational skills; detail oriented with strong follow through skills.
Ability:
Ability to pass criminal background and reference check
Strong capability to work well within a team setting, demonstrating cooperation and communication to achieve common objectives effectively
Trustworthy and honest, with a customer-centric mindset and dedication to hard work. Actively seeks opportunities for growth, showing initiative to learn and improve, aiming to exceed team goals
