Energy & Retro-commissioning Manager

is responsible for performing and assisting in management of MEP and energy savings projects from preliminary investigation and solution development through the design phase and bidding, providing project management support through construction in and around the Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia area.

The Energy & Retro-commissioning (R-cx) Manager establishes and maintains effective working relationships with client facility managers and end users. Key to maintaining those relationships is regular communication of the project(s) status through meetings, along with written and verbal updates of the project(s) budget and schedule.

The Energy & R-cx Manager will be able to self-perform a portion of the solution development and will utilize support from internal and external technical support groups as required in the support of the projects. The Energy & R-cx Manager is responsible for managing assigned solutions development project(s) and programs and representing Aramark's and the Client/Owner's best interests in controlling project costs while delivering quality solutions to meet or exceed the expectations of the client.

Job Responsibilities

Performs investigations of building MEP systems (primarily HVAC systems) to identify root cause problems for system performance. Works directly with Engineering Solutions Project Developers, Project Managers, and clients to identify client needs and develop technical solutions that meet those needs. Provides technical analysis (troubleshooting) of a variety of building energy systems (HVAC, building automation, domestic hot water, lighting, etc.) to identify performance improvement options that meet the client goals as defined for each project. Identifies energy conservation measures and performs energy savings calculations, ECM cost estimating, and report development. Performs/manages retro-commissioning of HVAC and building automation systems, identifying system performance issues, recommending solutions, and overseeing implementation of corrective measures. Works directly with clients, customers, and all pertinent City and State departments and agencies to manage all required approvals in the design and construction phases and navigate all aspects of project permitting. Manages design consultants, contractors, and Client expectations to ensure the project concept, scope, and results are achieved to the satisfaction of the Client. Interfaces with client facility users to evaluate facility needs and develop capital improvement project scope of work.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in HVAC system retro-commissioning, energy auditing, and/or project management or performance contracting in institutional and/or commercial building projects. Experience performing spreadsheet-based energy savings calculations or energy modeling. HVAC design experience a plus. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred. Professional Engineering license or EIT a plus. Facilities Management experience a plus.
