Responsibilities:
PeopleTec is currently seeking a DTRA Blue Cyber Analyst to support our Fort Belvoir, VA location.
We are seeking a full-time on-site blue cyber analyst interested in joining an award-winning company and working with cutting-edge cyber technologies. The selected candidate will be a member of a dynamic National Capital Region (NCR)-based DTRA group working on state-of-the-art blue cyber team assessments for critical US and allied mission systems.
Duties Include:
Inspecting data network traffic to identify potential vulnerabilities or exploitations
Conducting cyber assessment technical planning and execution including maintaining liaises between stakeholders; understanding assessment objectives and requirements to meet those objectives; and maintaining documents for authorization for assigned cyber activities.
Providing technical insights and recommendations including hardware and software to optimize assessments
Collaborating with leadership and subject matter experts on assessments
Interfacing with technical staff within DTRA Information Technology commercial vendors
Participating in annual updates to standard operating procedures by providing recommendations
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Experience:
Active IAT Level II certification
Active CSSP Auditor certification
Hands-on network cyber experience
Travel: 25-30%
Must be a U.S. Citizen
An active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college in technical field with 1 year of related cyber experience; or no degree and 10 years of related cyber experience
Desired Skills:
Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate the cyber analytical toolkit and perform assessments
Working knowledge of DoD Information Technology system and network certification and accreditation processes to include system security authorization agreements
Experience conducting Information Operations Computer Network Defense/Exploitation assessments
Programming experience (Perl, Python, C, etc.)
Experience with firewalls and network TAP technologies
Experience with security monitoring, threat hunting, packet analysis, malware analysis, signature development, shell scripting
Familiarity with Linux environments (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
Installing, configuring, administering software applications
Troubleshooting skills for software and hardware problems
Configuring, managing, and maintaining networking equipment
Computer networking skills
Working knowledge of DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert processes
Working knowledge of Computer Network modeling software
