You will work on both the backend and frontend of web apps. You will be responsible for the performance (both API optimization and front-end performance), analytics, and monitoring of the applications. You will contribute towards applications that optimize internal processes and efficiencies. Given the data-intensive nature of the role, you should be comfortable working with raw SQL queries and optimizing DB design for performance. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and product managers responsible for building new and supporting existing applications. You must ensure that coding standards are followed, and documentation is maintained. A passion for coding, sharp logic, appreciation for business goals and workflows, and the ability to connect with a wide variety of team members are essential.Job Responsibilities:Own the Development of Data Infrastructure:Build and maintain the Enterprise Data Warehouse and ETL pipelines to support various analytics teams.Design, develop, and optimize APIs to ensure efficient data retrieval and integration with various applications.Automate steps of the data pipeline, ensuring data integrity and quality in relational/NoSQL databases.Full Stack Development:Design, develop, deploy, and maintain both backend and frontend components of web applications.Ensure high performance of APIs and front-end applications, applying best practices for optimization, analytics, and monitoring.Work on applications that optimize internal processes and efficiencies.Collaborate and Communicate:Work with multi-functional teams to understand project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.Present data analytics and insights to other teams, advocating for high data quality and effective data handling practices.Data Management and Optimization:Modify databases, perform tests, and resolve database usage issues and malfunctions.Turn raw structured and unstructured data into dimensional models usable by the business.Supervise and optimize the performance of APIs, leveraging database techniques for faster data retrieval.Collaborate with a team of engineers and product managers to build new and support existing applications.Ensure coding standards are followed and documentation is maintained.Analytics and Reporting:Lead the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, and interactive dashboards.Use business analytics software to analyze trends, identify KPIs, and communicate key insights to executives.Integration and Automation:Integrate third-party software into the existing tech stack using APIs or SDKs to improve operational efficiency.Implement applications for automated communications, workflows, and payment processing.Best Practices and Documentation:Research and embrace the best engineering practices in the data world.Document data models, use cases, and pipeline steps to scale data knowledge across the organization.Educate teams about the best data practices and advocate for self-serve analytics.Education:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Required)Work Experience:Full Stack Development:3+ years of full stack software development experience in both backend and frontend development.Experience in REST API development using Python.Experience developing APIs and cloud services with a focus on continuous performance optimization.Experience integrating third-party APIs and SDKs.Experience working with large codebases of existing production applications, starting projects from scratch, and contributing to a project's full life cycle.Experience working in Agile teams.Database and Data Modeling:Detailed understanding of SQL databases (preferably PostgreSQL).Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, with experience in cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.Solid understanding of data modeling and experience building databases and data architecture (Snowflake, PostgreSQL).Ability to write sophisticated SQL queries using window functions, merge, and multiple joins.Big Data and Machine Learning:Experience with the big data ecosystem, including AWS, Hadoop, Scala, Spark, Hive, and Kafka.Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and Sci-kit Learn.Understanding of statistical concepts, including regression, neural networks, decision trees, and time-series forecasting.Data Analytics and Visualization:Expertise in data analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and QlikView.Strong ability to build reports and visualizations to communicate data insights optimally.Software Development and Source Control:Experience in Python for data manipulation, transformation, and API development.Proficiency with Git, source control, and command-line tools for maintaining codebases.Monitoring and Performance:Experience in setting up monitoring tools for downtime and performance monitoring.Sharp analytical skills to understand existing applications and come up with innovative solutions.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Webpack, JavaScript, at least one front end framework and one backend framework (Required)Understands web protocols, how full stack applications operate and data flows (Required)Understanding of database modeling and SQL (Required)Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under time and cost constraints.Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical collaborators.Preferred Skills/Experience:Experience working with Data Warehousing solutions like Snowflake.Experience in setting up load testing environments.DevOps and CI/CD experience with AWS Cloud.Experience in NodeJS.Experience with creating reporting dashboards and data visualizations.Experience with Mapbox GL JS.* At least 18 years of $168,200Corporate Bonus Target: 15%The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
