Brown Bag Sandwich Co. is the first chopped sandwich concept in NYC. We pride ourselves on bridging the gap between the accessibility and community of your local corner store, and the quality and experience of a classic NYC delicatessen. As a startup, we're looking for dedicated individuals who are excited to grow and evolve with us.

Key Responsibilities:

• Upholding food quality standards as well as overall cleanliness of the store
• Managing prep lists and production schedules in coordination with our Chef
• Closing the store on a daily basis efficiently and completing necessary PM checklists
• Prepare and assemble chopped sandwiches according to company recipes and customer specifications.
• Memorization of the menu, able to provide information about products to customers
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and safely handled.
• Contribute on the preparation front, by coming in early and house-making meats, prepping up sides, and re-stocking the shop.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple orders simultaneously.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
• Contribute to the overall success of the startup by being adaptable and willing to take on new tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment (bonus if a QSR, specifically bodega, deli, or sandwich shop.)
• Experience with a meat slicer and knife skills is a plus
• Passion for the classic NYC dining scene.
• Friendly, outgoing, and customer-oriented attitude.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow with the company. Excited about contributing to building something.
• Ability to work well under pressure and multitask effectively.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
