Role Summary:
Urban Outfitters is looking for an analytical, collaborative, and dedicated individual to play a key role in allocating goods to stores. The Allocator is an operational role working with multiple teams across the organization, including the Planning, Buying, Operations, Distribution, and Reporting teams. With the key objective of managing inventory at the store level in order to maximize sales to achieve financial objectives for their respective division and total company.
Role Responsibilities:
Execute the Allocations of initial inventories and in-season replenishment to stores
Meet or exceed sales, gross margin and inventory turn goals
Recap and communicate location and size selling performance
Collaborate with buying team on basic replenishment styles to meet in-stock targets
Ensure timely and accurate execution of new store openings
Show a strong command of geographic and store-attribute performance and trends through data analysis; apply learnings to allocations
Take an active role in OTB, Strategy, and Hindsight meetings, contributing input on distribution strategies
Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, share best practices and develop systems knowledge
Manage communication regarding inventory/replenishment with field contacts, as needed
Support the training process of new hires to the team
Visit stores on a regular basis to understand site specific opportunities
Role Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years Allocation experience
High Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Expert command of retail math concepts and applications
Strong statistical analysis skills
Strong communication skills
Excellent organizational, prioritizing and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well within a team environment
Bachelor's in Fashion Merchandising, Finance, or Business related degree preferred
