We persevere through obstacles and treat failure as an opportunity to learn and grow.The OpportunityThe Talent Systems Administrator at KIPP SoCal Public Schools is dedicated to enhancing and maintaining our HR systems - including Kronos, SchoolMint Grow, Helios, and our in-house Staffing Plans - to ensure our organization operates efficiently and effectively. By ensuring data integrity, optimizing system performance, and delivering exceptional support to our 1,500+ employees, the Talent Systems Administrator plays a critical role in advancing our mission of educational excellence. This role helps our organization thrive by maintaining compliance, driving operational efficiency, and supporting our schools and staff in achieving their goals.Desired OutcomesEnsure KIPP SoCal's compliance with federal, state, authorizer, KIPP Foundation, and other stakeholder requirements by maintaining accurate and up-to-date data across all HR systems.Develop audit reporting and metrics to continuously monitor the accuracy and completeness of staff data.Build and maintain automated data quality reports to ensure timely detection and resolution of data issues.Collaborate with stakeholders to define and establish key data quality metrics for timesheets, payroll, and other HR processes, and regularly share insights with the organization.Proactively identify potential system and data issues in Kronos, resolving them before they impact the organization.Lead the development of a forward-looking strategy for helpdesk operations and Kronos knowledge management, ensuring sustainable and scalable support for the organization.Provide prompt, effective, and empathetic responses to helpdesk tickets, ensuring user satisfaction and resolution of technical issues.Lead with curiosity to fully understand user needs and pain points to create or enhance 5-10 user guides or training experiences.Identify trends in user requests to proactively update chat bot instructions and identify new errors or failures in staff data systems to fix.Expand and automate data maintenance audit processes.Partner with payroll, talent, and HR teams to streamline workflows, remove obstacles, and implement process improvements that drive operational efficiency.Evaluate and implement new talent platforms or tools as needed to support the evolving needs of the organization.Expand our automated audit report process up to at least 10 key data quality and compliance checks automated in data warehouse, google app script, or elsewhere.Replace 100% of manual data maintenance tasks with automated processes.Role-Specific CompetenciesCustomer Service Orientation. Proactively develops and implements data audits and ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.Commitment to Social Impact. Understands the broader impact of their work on the community, contributing to the organization’s goals with purpose and dedication.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience is required.2 or more years of HRIS or other data management system experience preferred.Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product, with Kronos is preferred but not required.Systems implementation experience a plus.Project or product management experience.Scripting experience a plus, but willingness to learn required (SQL, R, Python, Batch, JavaScript, HTML, etc.).Experience with Business Intelligence tools a plus (Tableau, Qlikview, Microstrategy, etc.).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience breaking down multi-step procedures into attainable pieces and communicating them to stakeholders.Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure the HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.Attention to detail to ensure deadlines are met in accordance with policy reporting.Ability to keep information confidential.Proficient with Google Suite.Working with Us Means the Following PerksStarting salary ranges from $58,000 to $72,500 per year.Employer-paid KIPP SoCal life insurance.401(k) plan with up to 6% match by KIPP SoCal.Voluntary Benefits (Pet Insurance, Supplemental Life, Accident, Short Term Disability, etc.).Generous paid time off program includes 22 holidays, sick leave, and vacation.Other great benefits (Flexible spending account, EAP, etc.).KIPP SoCal Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation/gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.KIPP SoCal strives to ensure that our careers website is accessible to all, including individuals with disabilities.
